D. Christopher Shane – Founder, Chairman and CCO
Mr. Shane has over 45 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to co-founding Essex Asset Advisors, he spent 23 years with General Re – New England Asset Management, Inc., (GR-NEAM), a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, where he was a Director of the company and a member of the Investment Policy Committee. Over the course of his career, Mr. Shane has developed expertise in the Structured Products Markets and in the rehabilitation of distressed portfolios. Mr. Shane is a graduate of Oxford University, England, and has an M.A. from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, and received his M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Brendan Lynch – Founder and President
Mr. Lynch has over 29 Years of experience within the investment industry. Prior to co-founding Essex Asset Advisors, he spent 15 years with General – Re New England Asset Management, Inc., (GR-NEAM), a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary. During that period, Mr. Lynch was head trader for all Structured Products, Co-Head of the ABS Group and the Portfolio Manager for its Hedge Fund. Prior to his GR-NEAM career, Mr. Lynch was with Fitch IBCA Group as a Structured Finance Analyst specializing in esoteric Asset-Backed Securities. Mr. Lynch holds a B.A. in History from Brown University.
Christopher Pavamani – CEO
Mr. Pavamani has over 31 years of experience within the investment industry. Prior to joining Essex Asset Advisors, he spent 27 years with General Re – New England Asset Management, Inc., (GR-NEAM), a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary., where he was a Senior Quantitative strategist. Mr. Pavamani was instrumental in building the quantitative platform for relative value, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk models. Mr. Pavamani also has extensive experience in valuing and analyzing Structured Securities. Mr. Pavamani holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Marine Engineering Research Institute, India and an M.B.A from the University of Hartford. Mr Pavamani is a C.F.A. holder.
